Carnival Hunt Hunter Beginner Guide
Beginner Hunter guide for Carnival Hunt Early Access: no in-game Monster tutorial yet—learn tracking, Magician and Sisters kits, wind-up pressure, and ability basics for 5v1 pubs.
There Is Still No Full Hunter Tutorial
Beer Night Studio shipped Early Access without a complete Hunter tutorial—many players learn tracking, special moves, and kit timing only in live matches. This page is the wiki onboarding layer for Monster mains who do not want to burn ten queues guessing cooldowns.
Start with shared Monster fundamentals: both sides burn wind-up charge, keys make noise, proximity voice lets you eavesdrop, and Play Dead piles punish impatient body checks. Then specialize into Magician deception or Sisters trap control.
Deep pages: Magician how-to, Sisters how-to, monsters hub, and status effects.
Magician Kit Basics
The Magician sells deception and mobility: Hat Trick / grab lines for distant catches, Impostors for mental pressure and traps, Invisibility for stationary observation, Teleport booths for surprise rotations, and cards for zone denial. Missed grabs cost charge—do not spam into Smoke Carrot.
Use Eyeball-style checks when Play Dead piles look suspicious near objectives. Patient Magician players beat montage feints; impatient ones feed Bunny escapes. Full sequencing: Magician video guide.
Flex away from Magician when lobbies stack Radar and Smoke—switch to Sisters for trap-and-cage pressure documented on The Sisters page.
Sisters Kit Basics
The Sisters are quieter on voice lines (none) and stronger at map control: Scissors pull or briefly stun, Mannequins patrol up to three routes, Broken Mirrors leave a returnable mannequin copy, and Scream of Pain applies Confusion (no sprint) with knockback.
They move slower than the Magician but skip many action movement penalties—scissors throws and corpse carries keep tempo. Place mannequins on high-traffic wind lanes, then rotate; Bunnies can free each other from mannequins after recent patches, so do not AFK on one trap.
Drill five Magician and five Sisters queues before one-tricking. Watch the embed above (LdYGroCyPGw) for chase pacing, then read beat the Sisters so you anticipate Bunny counters.
Your First Ten Hunter Matches
Matches 1–3: ignore fancy combos—practice finding noise, cutting one wind station, and leaving before you starve your own charge. Matches 4–7: add one ability win condition per queue (Teleport cancel, scissors pull, or mannequin free denial). Matches 8–10: flex the other Hunter for ten minutes each.
Review one death cam or replay when available. Note whether you lost to tunneling, missed audio, or bad cage timing. Cross-check friction on known issues before blaming your kit.
Pick a server region (Central EU, East US, North-East Asia) beside Play for stable ping after the early August region hotfix—see patch notes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an official Hunter tutorial?
Not a complete one at Early Access start—use this guide plus Steam Tips & Tricks posts for Sisters.
Should I main Magician or Sisters first?
Magician teaches mobility and deception; Sisters teach zoning. Play five queues of each before locking a main.
What does Confusion do to Bunnies?
Blocks sprint. Scream of Pain applies it after week-two hotfixes—see the status effects page.
Can Bunnies free teammates from mannequins?
Yes after recent patches—interact with the mannequin. Do not assume permanent traps.
